A USA visa is required for immigration into the United States. Immigration into the United States can be a complicated process but it is also a major source of population growth in the country. Immigration to United States is responsible for much of the positive cultural change throughout the history of the United States. It has also been responsible for some controversy in the country regarding who should receive economic benefits, as well as economic, social and political aspects of immigration.
While it’s important to have a visa to get into the United States, immigrants need to also be aware that there is some political conflict in the country regarding settlement patterns, crime, voting behavior and jobs for non-immigrants and who is most entitled (if there is any entitlement) to the jobs.
Statistics show that in the mid-2000s the United States had such a high immigration rate with the USA visa that the numbers of immigrants that became permanent residents was the highest rate in the world combined.
Individuals looking to come to the US on a visa arrive from more countries than others in some cases. The leading countries of American immigration are Mexico, India, Philippines and China. These may be the leading countries, but immigration can come from any country with any economic background.
Two-thirds of legal immigration is the result of family unification. Some individuals try to enter the country illegally without a proper USA visa. Even thought the process of getting a visa can be complicated and sometimes expensive, trying to enter the USA illegally is even more expensive, difficult and downright dangerous. Over the years, laws against illegal immigration have become more stronger making the consequences of trying to enter the country without a visa more serious.
One of the things the country has done to reduce the chance of illegal immigration, at least from Mexico, is to begin discussions of building a rail along the 2,000 mile US-Mexico border. USA visas are only required for non-American citizens. American traveling abroad won’t need a visa, but they might need a visa from the country to which they’re traveling. A USA visa is required by foreign citizens traveling to the United States either temporarily as a tourist or as a potential immigrant. The type of visa you require will depend on the country you’re from and the purpose for your reason for being in the United States.
o Non-immigrant visas – required for traveling throughout the US on a temporary basis. Therefore, it is important that you know what your intentions are prior to obtaining one of these visas. You will also be required to tell the authorities what type of document you need. There are 3 categories of USA visas as follows:
Student visas – limited numbers of students are eligible for entry into the US.
Visitation visas – whether for business or pleasure, this USA visa entitles the person to stay in the country for a limited period of time.
Work visas – depending on your field of employment, the US Labor Department or other federal government agency may require that you receive their certification in order to live and work in the US.
Using a Visa to Enter the US
Having one of the two types of visas mentioned above entitles the individual (and their family if applicable) to enter the US in one of two ways:
o A port of entry
o Airport or land border crossing
It also enables the individual to request information from an inspector employed by the CBP (Customs and Border Protection) or DHS (Department of Homeland Security). Although you may have obtained a USA visa before coming to the US, it does not guarantee your entry into the country. It merely indicates that a Consulate or US Embassy consular officer has determined that an individual is eligible for entry into the US.
Additionally, the CBP and DHS inspectors are responsible for guarding the US borders and entry points and admitting foreign travelers into the country under a specified status and for a specific period of time. Another responsibility of the DHS inspector involves any immigration issue or matter that arises when the individual is here in the US. You can usually visit a US Consulate or Embassy in order to apply for a USA visa.

In line with its commitment to provide a range of financial solutions for its customers, Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, announced today the launch of a new campaign to spread awareness of the benefits of using VISA , rather than cash, when travelling abroad. The campaign will run from July 1–August 31, 2010, and aims to make customers aware of the security advantages of carrying a debit card, rather than large amounts of cash when travelling.
During this promotion, customers will be encouraged to use their VISA instead of cash, with daily cashback rewards of up to AED 4,000. The rewards are applicable on every AED 200 or more in purchases or cash withdrawals from ATM machines. The offer applies to anywhere outside of the UAE during the months of July and August. Additionally, at the end of the promotion there will be a final prize draw of AED 50,000.
The security advantages of using cards in place of cash have long been recognised. In the event of a lost or stolen card, customers can call the 24-hour emergency helpline and the bank will make immediate arrangements to stop misuse of the account. In addition, because VISA utilise funds from the available balance, there are no interest charges.
“Customers are often unaware of the considerable security and convenience benefits of using VISA to pay for their purchases. They have traditionally carried cash while travelling or only used their VISA for withdrawing cash from ATM machines,” said R. Sivaram, Senior Vice President, Cards Business Head, Emirates NBD. “This new initiative is designed to spread awareness that VISA are accepted internationally and are one of the safest ways to make payments whilst travelling.”
“With the summer season upon us, and these fantastic rewards from Emirates NBD, there is no better time to switch from cash to VISA. By making this smart choice, customers will be able to fully enjoy their travel experience with added peace of mind,” he concluded.

Tourist visa: (short staying time) It’s what you need to enter Vietnam! Available one-month single-entry visa stay in Vietnam maximum one month). Tourist visa may be extended one time for 30 days after your arrival in Vietnam. If you plan to spend more than one month in Vietnam, or if you plan to exit Vietnam and re-enter from Cambodia, Laos or China, you will need a one-month or three-month multiple-entry visa with the approval from local agents.
Business Visas: Business visa is usually valid for three or six months, allow single entry or multiple entries and the right to work. Getting a business visa has now become cheap and easy, although prices are about double those of a tourist visa. It is generally easier to apply for a business visa once in Vietnam, after having arrived on a tourist visa.
Student visas: A student visa is usually arranged after your arrival. It’s acceptable to enter Vietnam on a tourist visa, enrol in a Vietnamese language course and then apply at the immigration police for a change in status. In reality, the easiest way to do it is to contact a travel company and have them help you make the application.
Visa Extensions:If you’ve got the dollars, they’ve got the rubber stamp. Tourist-visa extensions cost as little US$10, but it is easier to pay more and sort this out through a travel agency. Getting the stamp yourself can be a bureaucratic nightmare. The procedure takes two or three days and you can only extend one time for 30 days. In theory you should be able to extend your visa in any provincial capital. In practice it goes smoothest in major cities, such as HCMC, Hanoi, Danang and Hue, which cater to mass tourism.
Re-Entry Visas:It’s possible to enter Cambodia, Laos or any other country from Vietnam and then re- enter without having to apply for another visa. However, you must apply for a re-entry visa before you leave Vietnam. If you do not have a re-entry visa, you will have to go through the whole Vietnamese visa nonsense again. Re-entry visas are easiest to arrange in Hanoi or HCMC, but you will almost certainly have to ask a travel agent to do the paperwork for you. Travel agents charge about US$20 for this service and can complete the procedure in a day or two.
